Education of Board Members Education of Members/Owners

Board Member Education. The Executive Board shall seek to utilize educational meetings and seminars regarding governance of homeowners associations that qualify under Colorado law. The appropriate expenses of board member attending shall be a common expense of the Association.

Member/Owner Education.To satisfy Colorado statutory requirement for annual education of association members/owners, the Association will provide such education either by education at a meeting of the membership or by inclusion in association writings distributed to all members. Such education may address operation of homeowners associations, rights and responsibilities of members/owners, or Executive Board conduct and action. In addition, such education may be made available to the membership by posting upon the association or Board of Directors web site, if any, or by other electronic means.

Adoption of Budget

1. Budget Adoption. The annual budget of the Association shall be adopted, pursuant to Colorado Revised Statutes, in the following manner:
A proposed budget, based upon a calendar year, shall be adopted annually by the Executive Board in a scheduled board meeting prior to the next annual meeting of the association membership.
Thereafter, the association membership shall be given notice of such annual meeting as required by Executive Board and Colorado law.
Such notice of the annual meeting shall include a copy of the proposed budget.
The proposed budget, so served upon the association members, will be deemed approved as adopted by the Executive Board unless such budget is vetoed at the annual meeting by a majority of all members in the association, as provided by Colorado law.
A budget may be considered at an association membership meeting other than the annual meeting of the membership, so long as the required notices are given.
